About Our Dojo:
This school was founded to promote and develop Aikido in the Sacramento County and surrounding areas and is located in the Community of Orangevale. This school and its instructors are registered with the Aikido Yoshinkai Foundation in Tokyo, Japan, via the International Yoshinkan Aikido Federation (IYAF). This school is also a member of the Aikido Yoshinkan Yoseikai family of schools, headed by Amos L. Parker Shihan.

Yoshinkan 'House for Cultivating the Spirit' was founded in 1955 by Shioda Gozo Kancho, a top student of Aikido founder Ueshiba Morehei O'Sensei (great teacher) before and after World War II. With full support of his teacher the Yoshinkan was responsible for the early spread of Aikido after World War II and has some 150 basic techniques, which are practiced repeatedly. These enable the student to master the remaining ones, which total some 3000 overall.

Yoshinkan Aikido is not a sport or religion. Rather, it is the development and strengthening of the body and mind; and the practical side of Aikido must never be forgotten. However, Aikido is for all, irrespective of age, gender, race, religion or culture.
